Every marinating solution is broken in a different way.

You cook, sometimes well. You want to marinate according to the recipe but every time you open that cabinet you make do with something that was not designed for your life, your use case, or your values. Until now.

Silicone bags absorb smell
Use garlic marinade once and your silicone bag smells like it forever. Stainless steel absorbs nothing, ever.
Bowls take up the whole fridge
A deep bowl covered in plastic wrap monopolizes an entire shelf. Tend Kitchen containers stack flat and fit in the space a takeout container would.
Plastic bags are just trash
Single-use plastic bags for marinating. One Tend Kitchen container replaces thousands of them.

Built for the way you actually cook.

Not a food storage container repurposed for marinating. Something designed specifically for this, from the dimensions to the lid to the steel grade.

The Science

Why 304 stainless steel is the ideal material for marinating

Non-reactive
FDA-certified non-reactive with food acids, salts, and oils. Citrus, vinegar, wine, zero metallic taste, even overnight.
Zero odor absorption
Unlike silicone or plastic, stainless steel does not absorb smell. Garlic marinade today, lemon herb tomorrow.
Oven safe to 446F
Marinate in the fridge, roast in the oven in the same vessel. No transfer, no extra dishes, no mess.
Lasts forever
304 stainless does not crack, warp, degrade, or stain. One container outlasts every silicone bag you have ever bought.

Competitors warn against marinating in their containers.

High-acid marinades can damage general food storage containers not designed for it. Tend Kitchen containers are purpose-built for exactly this use case, in the material science says is ideal.

Our Story

I believed there must be another way.

I marinate meat regularly. I tried silicone bags but they smell after one use. I tried big bowls but they take up the whole fridge and the foil or plastic wrap is too flimsy. I tried plastic wrap over a plate. Surely there was another way?

I spent months testing samples, sourcing manufacturers, and marinating more chickens than I can count to find the right product. Here is what I came up with.

Questions

Everything you want to know

Is it really oven safe?
Yes, the container is oven safe up to 446F without the lid. Remove the lid before placing in the oven. The container goes straight from the fridge to the oven without any transfer needed.
Which size fits a whole chicken?
The Large (3200ml) fits a whole 4lb chicken. We tested this extensively. If you have a larger bird, the Large is still your best option. It was designed with this use case in mind from the start.
Do the lids really interchange between sizes?
Yes, all three sizes share the same lid. No more digging through a drawer trying to match lids to containers. Buy all three and you have three lids that fit any of them.
How do I clean it?
Dishwasher safe, top rack recommended. You can also hand wash with mild detergent and a soft sponge. Avoid steel wool or abrasive cleaners to keep the finish looking great.
